SUMMARY:Piano Masterclass- Tony Chen Lin
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to host a Piano Masterclass by Tony Chen Lin on  Saturday 29 August 2026, in room 211 (across the  courtyard)  at the School of Music,  the NZSM at Victoria University of Wellington.\nTony emigrated to NZ from China at age 6, and graduated in piano and composition from Canterbury University. He earned MMus and a Soloist Diploma with Distinction from the Hochschule fur Musik In Freiburg, Germany, and studied at the Liszt Academy in Hungary.\nAfter winning the Christchurch concerto competition, he also debuted with the Stuttgart State Orchestra in 2015. He frequently features at the Semaine International Piano et Musique de Chambre in Switzerland, and tours regularly with Chamber Music New Zealand.\nHe is also a composer, and the NZSO and Christchurch and Auckland Symphony orchestras have performed his works.\nHis highly acclaimed debut solo album, Digressions, was released on Rattle Records in 2018, featuring classical compositions and his own short works, and reached no 1 on the New Zealand Classical Chart.\n\nRegistration and on-line payment is required as seating is limited to 30 places.\nIRMTNZ members $15, non-members $25\nRegistration closes Saturday 22 August 2026\n\n \nRegister here\n
